    COMPLETE SAHARA EXPERIENCE


    Sunday:

    Ship arrival in Tunis, transfer to Port el Kantaoui, a famous tourist port on the coast, dinner and overnight stay in a 4 or 5-star hotel.


    Monday:

    After breakfast, departure by highway, stopping in El Jem to visit the largest Roman amphitheater in the world after Rome and Verona, famous for being the setting for the film "Gladiator." Continue to the city of Douz, also known as the Gateway to the Sahara, famous for being the northernmost access to the great Sahara Desert. Check-in at a 4-star hotel, meet with the guides for a briefing, dinner, and overnight stay.


    Tuesday:

    Douz - El Mida: Departure to refuel and begin the great Sahara adventure!

    We'll begin with an easy-medium route to familiarize ourselves with the sand and the first dunes!

    Every afternoon before sunset, we'll gather firewood and set up camp.

    And overnight stay among the desert dunes.


    Wednesday:

    El Mida - Ihawidatt

    In the morning, breakfast at the camp, where the guides prepare hot bread cooked in the sand around the fire. A special day, with varying levels of driving difficulty, until reaching the famous hot spring on the dunes to the south. Dinner and overnight stay.


    Thursday:

    Ihawidatt - Tenbain

    A spectacular day with rolling dunes that reach up to 12 stories high, with endless landscapes until reaching Tembain mountain, the highest in the Tunisian desert.

    Friday:

    Tenbain-Ksarghilane

    Departure for the Ksarghilane Oasis, a place famous for its Roman fort among the dunes of the Eastern Erg and for being the southernmost of the oases. Overnight stay in a very special campsite, with private tents equipped with bathrooms and hot showers in private tents and air conditioning. Dinner featuring exquisitely cooked local specialties, a folkloristic evening, and overnight stay.


    Saturday:

    Departure from the great desert and pass through Matmata, a Berber troglodyte region where Star Wars was filmed. Visit a Berber homestead inhabited by a local family to enjoy a special tea made with aromatic mountain herbs and admire the troglodyte dwellings dug underground. Continue by highway to Hammamet, a popular tourist destination on the Mediterranean coast, with a beautiful 4- or 5-star hotel on the seafront.


    Sunday:

    After breakfast, free time to visit the medina of Hammamet and then depart for Tunis to board a boat.


    This trip is assisted by our team of expert local guides.

    They will mark the sand and help you learn how to drive on sand. The camps are usually free, with everyone providing their own tent, equipment, and meal preparation. We can provide a large tent where everyone can dine together.

    If you prefer, we can also arrange for meals to be prepared by us. You can also organize tours using existing camps if you prefer to always have bathrooms and showers. Alternatively, you can alternate nights spent at your own pace with nights spent in organized locations, or spend all your days in the desert at your own pace.


    Even longer tours can be created if you option for a later return by ship.
